This Privacy Policy describes how Stitchbloc("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit our website, create an account, or use our platform (collectively, the "Services").

Stitchbloc helps tenants document visible signs of damp and mould in their homes, receive a preliminary AI photo assessment, and draft factual maintenance emails to landlords. By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy and in our Terms of Use.

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and authentication details through our identity provider. We use this to create and secure your account.

Property and tenancy details. You may provide your rental address, landlord contact details, and room locations to help us tailor analysis and draft emails.

Photos and scan data. When you upload images, we store the photo, preliminary assessment results, attention bands, timestamps, and any notes you add. This is the core data you use to build a dated record of visible damp or mould signs in your home.

Communications. If you draft or send emails through Stitchbloc, we store the content, tone, attachments, and delivery status so you can track what was sent and when.

Usage and technical data. We collect standard log data such as browser type, device information, IP address, and pages visited to keep the Services secure and reliable.

We use your information to provide and improve the Services, including running AI analysis on your photos, generating draft landlord emails, storing your chain-of-custody records, sending service-related notifications, and responding to support requests.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your photos to train our models unless you explicitly opt in.

Your uploaded photos are stored in an encrypted workspace linked to your account. Analysis runs on our infrastructure to highlight visible patterns and produce a preliminary photo assessment. Results are shown to you, and your supplied photo is included when you choose to send a maintenance email.

Stitchbloc is a documentation tool, not a surveyor, medical service, or legal adviser. AI outputs are estimates intended to help you act — they should not be treated as a professional inspection, diagnosis, safety determination, or legal determination.

We share your data only when necessary to operate the Services or when you ask us to:

With your landlord or others you choose. When you send an email or export a report, the recipient receives the content and attachments you selected. We do not contact your landlord unless you initiate it.

Service providers. We use trusted subprocessors for hosting, authentication, email delivery, and analytics. They process data on our instructions and under contractual safeguards.

Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the public.

We keep your account data and scan history for as long as your account is active. Because the Services exist to build a dated record, checks and correspondence are retained even after an issue is marked as resolved, so that the history stays available to you.

You can ask us to delete individual checks or close your account at any time by emailing hi@stitchbloc.com. We handle these requests manually — there is currently no self-service deletion in the app. We will remove or anonymise the associated data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records for legal, security, or backup purposes.

If you are in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and monitoring designed to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Services are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated by email or in-product notice where appropriate.
